It’s Monday but don’t worry,  we won’t bore you with the details but today the schedule says RT…..better known as Retail Therapy. I know it must seem like most days have been taken up with RT of some sort but today is different. It’s all about hitting the ‘consignment’ shops. Of course we had to be in tip-top condition before we ventured forth so after our yoga session, our walk to the coffee shop and then back home for breakfast, Maice got behind the wheel of Myrna’s car and off we went, making sure she was always driving on the right side of the road! We decided that rather than walk to the shops which were in different districts it was best to drive and as Myrna had offered up her car we took advantage of the offer. And we’re so thankful that we did as we were out for hours, drove for miles and pleased to report there were no driving incidents of note.

After a successful afternoon shopping Maice cobbled together a rather tasty supper of leftovers before we headed over to Rutland to the Grand 10 Cinema where we met Tara. We were here to see ‘The Roses’ and very good it was too, in fact we think the other four cinema goers in the cinema thought so too as they did laugh out loud in a couple of places. We said our goodbyes to Tara who is off on her holidays tomorrow morning with Dave and their friends Catherine and Joe. They’re headed off to The Maritimes so ‘Bon voyage, καλό ταξίδι, have a good trip and don’t forget to send a postcard!

Welcome to Tuesday. After our yoga session we set off downtown to the cultural district wearing our trainers and shoes. We have finally heeded Myrna’s advice and decided to forgo the flip-flops which she reckons are bad for us and wore instead our new trainers and shoes which we purchased yesterday. We headed off downtown to Sprout, the coffee shop where not only were we thankful for a coffee and a cheese scone, we were extremely thankful to be able to sit down and rest our tired, weary and aching feet. Honestly, walking in proper footwear is not all it’s cracked up to be! We did what we had to do downtown, then hobbled back home in the searing temperatures (it was at least 26 degrees but with no wind) where we had a half hour break and changed back into our flip-flops before heading out to Moxies for lunch with Katana who wasn’t able to join us at the Japanese restaurant the other evening. It was lovely to catch up with Katana and hear all her news about her first few weeks at the University of BC which sounds like very hard work but sure she’ll enjoy it. We all enjoyed our lunch and before we knew it we were saying saying our goodbyes to Katana.

On the way home we stopped off at the strip mall so Maice could purchase a pair of shoes she’d hummed and haa’d about then went to the liquor store to top up on some Prosecco and wine before heading back home, having a quick break and then taking the car again and heading down to the park beach for a dip. We haven’t had the opportunity over the past few days to go down to the lake but the water was so warm it was gorgeous. The only thing with swimming in the lake is that it’s shore is so shallow you have to walk out a long, long way to get to the deep part, which we didn’t do so we just immersed ourselves in the water by either kneeling down or walking on our hands!

Back home we had some snacks for supper then sat and watched the second episode of a murder mystery programme called The Marlow Murders. All we can say is that we hope the books are better than the series!

According to the schedule we’ve a busy day tomorrow so on that note, night all…
