The schedule for today says yoga, walk, coffee, breakfast, Inked Angels, The Delta Grande, home and strictly no dipping in the lake!
Our yoga session today was ‘yoga for tired feet’, very apt but why after almost two weeks have we only just found this yoga session? Never mind, we felt like we were walking on air afterwards (ha ha, only kidding) but it did help a little bit. We headed off for our walk in our flip-flops down Abbott Street with all its huge houses overlooking the banks of the lake. The road eventually took us to the Bean Scene cafe where we enjoyed our morning cappuccino before heading off to Blue Ginger for Maice to buy a few more ‘gifts’!

We decided to forgo breakfast due to us going for ‘lupper’ (lunch/supper) at 3pm so we all got in the car and headed off to Inked Angels. So, for my birthday this coming October I have decided to treat myself to a tattoo. Never had one before in my life and one morning a few months ago I woke up and decided I wanted one. So using my own design of Milly my cat, which I used as part of my signature on cards etc. I drew what I wanted and they tattooed it onto my ankle. Maice and Myrna came with me and sat and watched the whole procedure from their seats at the bottom of the couch. Did it hurt? Yes it did. Did it bring a tear to my eye? No it didn’t although when she got near to the ankle bone I did have to do my breathing technique to take the pain away. I would like to say that my procedure was entertaining for both M&M but the lady on the couch next to me certainly stole the show. In fact she could have her own soap opera, such was her life, which she relayed to the tattoo artist in charge of her tattoo and which we couldn’t help but overhear she was that loud. So what we know is she’s now on her second marriage (she got married first time around in a rainbow dress), she has two girls from her first marriage who look exactly like her but different and that husband was a loser, she has four boys from her second marriage and he’s an even bigger loser than husband no. 1. She’s been breast feeding for 20 years as her 6 kids are aged between 9 and 29 which is why her boobs are hanging low, her words not ours! Husband No. 2 is looking for a flat and is now living in a trailer in their front garden. She has broken 8-9 vertebrae in her back, her hamstring split in half and apparently the doctor was able to put his thumb in between (!!) so she’s now on crutches which she has decorated with skelton legs (strange). She then whipped off her top to reveal a very skimpy bra top, looked more like a thong, went into the back of the shop and came back to the couch, which was at the front of the shop with its big window, sporting two white folded kitchen towels held down with black tape that covered her nipples. So as you can imagine, it was a bit like watching Eastenders, there always seemed to be a drama in her life. She was having a huge tattoo covering her chest and shoulders so my little tattoo paled into insignificance! So yes, a very entertaining morning was had in the Inked Angels Tattoo Parlour!!

Back home we had a couple of hours before heading out again so I kept my leg raised so as to stem any flow of blood and help the healing process then we got changed and set off for The Delta Grand Hotel where we were treating Myrna to a surprise lupper. Maice was driving, Myrna in the passenger seat, me in the rear seats. Of course Myrna didn’t know where she was going as it was a surprise and Maice also didn’t seem to know where she was going although she did know where she was going she just couldn’t drive there and drove in a a very out of the way way to get there. We parked in the car park opposite the hotel but couldn’t work out the pay machine which was via a QR code however as luck would have it there was a parking space on the road with pay parking. Maice took the car round to the space and Lordy Lordy what did she do?……she only went and mounted the pavement trying to pull into the ‘very large parking space’! Honestly a bus could have parked better than that. Goodness knows what Myrna was thinking, it being her car!! Anyway, after a bit of straightening up we finally made it into the hotel and took our seats not actually outside on the terrace as it was too hot but inside next to the terrace where all the doors were open. Was it as lovely as its 4* rating suggested? Yes it was. Did we enjoy some lovely cocktails? Yes we did, well Myrna and I did, Maice was drinking mocktails due to being the driver. Myrna and I both had an Espresso Martini with a Baileys foam on top and it was absolutely delicious, so delicious in fact that we had two each, omg they were so amazing. To eat, we all chose the same thing, Seafood Linguine which was to die for, it was that tasty and for dessert Maice had a peach crème brûlée and Myrna and I had our second Espresso Martini. Overall we had a fabulous meal made even better by Sanjay our waiter. He was fab. Very attentive, a very happy guy, good looking, good figure and a very neat little bum…..just sayin’. We all admired his happy-go-lucky charm, honestly he was great.

Since this morning the schedule has changed and Kerris is coming over at 7pm so when we got home from the Delta Grand we had a few hours to relax before Kerris arrived. Of course she was hungry so Myrna and Maice ended up making Poutine for all of us!. It’s amazing isn’t it that even though we’d had a big meal just hours earlier we still had space for Poutine and some more alcohol!
Well, what a day it’s been. We’ve crammed such a lot into the day, the weather has been absolutely superb and it was lovely to treat Myrna to somewhere she hasn’t eaten in before. Overall a great day was had by all. And talking about great days, we would like to wish our good friend Johnny Fiori a very Happy Birthday for yesterday. We believe he’s in Italy celebrating with his cousins so goodness knows what state he’ll be in, we can only imagine!
Until tomorrow…
