We’re so glad that the Tin Man found his heart at Tara and Dave’s place, no doubt about it he’s definitely gone to a good home.

This morning we were back on track with the routine albeit a bit later than usual. Our yoga stretch routine complete, we took ourselves off to the Guisachan gardens where they have a small ‘scurry’ of black squirrels. We were hoping to see some today but they are quite elusive so it’s not guaranteed. Well, luck would have it that as we turned into the gardens we saw a ‘dray’, a mother with her baby scoot up a nearby tree. Maice tried to get some photos of them but each time she pointed the camera they moved around the tree trunk. We carried on walking around the gardens and what did we come across? We came across a ‘covey’ of quails. Funny little birds they are, running between the trees thinking they couldn’t be seen. The Guisachan gardens are lovely and quiet and very well cared for, it’s a little retreat where you can take your book and relax in a wonderfully quiet setting.

Coffee was a’ calling so we headed off in search of a coffee house and stumbled upon this lovely place called ‘Sandrine’ on the corner of Lakeshore.  We recall Ginger telling us about this being one of her favourite places. It was certainly very colourful and the cakes and pastries looked amazing. We had our cappuccino’s and two butter croissants and bought a square apricot preserve doughnut to take back for Myrna. It’s great that we’ve found a new coffee shop to add to our list and we’d definitely recommend this to anyone out there.

Today we’re meeting the ‘cousins’ Tammy and Judy at Tara and Dave’s place over in Rutland. Before we got there we did a small detour to the shoe store as Myrna was looking for another pair of shoes. Funnily enough both Myrna and I just happened to purchase a pair, and why not, I am on holiday after all.

Tammy and Judy had already arrived and they haven’t changed since last year, both looking good and both as mad as a box of frogs…..must run in the family! Kyran (sorry we spelt your name wrong last time) came and said ‘hello’ and was totally embarrassed by Judy….‘well just look at the size of you, my haven’t you grown’, you know that type of stuff. We were sat outside under the awning when it started to rain, yes it actually started raining. It’s most definitely needed round these parts as its very dry and they do have lots of forest fires around here so the more rain the better. Unfortunately it didn’t last that long but hopefully it’s helped.

We left for home around 5.30pm and somehow ended up at Costco seven minutes later. It closed at 6pm so we didn’t have long to get around. Maice went to purchase the sunglasses she’d seen last time, which she actually bought only they were a different pair than the ones she’d previously tried on, Myrna went looking for stuffed salmon recommended by Tara and I went to the pharmacy to get something for my sore throat which I’d had all day and had gotten much worse. I was told to see the pharmacist and when I asked him if he had anything for a sore throat he said ‘No’ and walked off! Gargling with warm salt water it is then! Considering the time was now 6pm and the store was now officially closed, the queues at the till were enormous. Not only that, people had trolleys and carts full to the brim, on a late Sunday afternoon, at closing time!!

Back home I took some tablets, gargled with warm water and settled myself onto the sofa whilst Maice and Myrna prepared the supper. The salmon was really delicious and very tasty accompanied with some multi coloured new potatoes and broccoli, whats not to love. I took myself off to bed at 9pm followed an hour later by Maice. It’s been a lovely day but now sleep is calling. What’s on the schedule for tomorrow? We’ll surprise ourselves and consult with it in the morning……

Night all….M&A xx
