We’re off out early today to Penticton craft market to see what delights they have on offer and if there’s anything we can purchase whilst there, you know, just because! The last time we went to a craft market with Tara she literally talked to every single stall holder there was and it took us hours to walk around. She has in no uncertain terms been told to speed things up as the market closes at 1pm! Fortunately for us only half of the market was there and that was mainly only selling fruit and veg.

Because we had an early start we had to forgo our walk and our breakfast although we did manage our morning yoga which we desperately needed as we were both stiff, sore and tender after yesterday’s sports massage. We stopped off at Peachland for coffee and croissants then popped into the crafty type artisan shop next door for a bit of a mooch and can you believe this, we all exited the store having purchased something. Oh dear, the day is still young and here we are already spending money…..that doesn’t bode well for the rest of the day!

From here we made our way along lake Okanagen to Penticton but interestingly enough lake Okanagen stops at Penticton and then becomes lake Skaha which then becomes much more windy and choppy. At Penticton we wandered through the markets then up through the high street, popping into a few consignment stores and of course we purchased a few things before heading off to Keromeos just further up the lake. We’re here because Tara’s friend Susie Eek had recommended this to Tara stating that she absolutely ‘had to visit’ this ‘artisan’ store because she would ‘love it’. SatNav was on but today it was confused and Tara, who was driving didn’t really have a clue where we were, in fact at one point we thought we’d driven to the wrong area however after a few deviations, u-turns, going round in circles, remembering this is Tara not us as we’re only the passengers, we came across the store Tara was looking for, The One Eyed Budgie, alias The Laugh Factory. With a name like that what could we expect when we walked through the door? Well, let us tell you that we spent at least 1 hour in there and it wasn’t even a big store. We walked round and round multiple times and we all selected our ‘treasures’ at, we must say a very good price, but the best buy was forTara who bought the Tin Man who was looking for a heart at the princely sum of $40, £20 to you and me! It was an absolute bargain and will look amazing as an adornment to her home. She was well impressed.

Back home Tara had a quick drink with us then headed off home with TinMan who was looking to find his heart at Tara’s house then Mryna and Maice made Perogies and salad for supper. They were delicious and we’ve been looking forward to them ever since we got here.
We retired to our beds about 9.30pm, did some ‘admin’ and it was lights out at 10.15pm. Tomorrows schedule tells us we’re back on track with our yoga and a walk. It also tells us we’re off to Tara’s to meet the cousins, so happy days ahead….x
Today’s little M&A musing is by the wonderful Marilyn Monroe…..’Nothng lasts forever so live it up, drink it down, laugh it off, avoid the drama, take chances and never have regrets because at one point everything you did was exactly what you wanted’
